To start a conversation in French, you first need to talk about yourself and the people with you. This is the foundation of every meeting. In this guide, we will learn how to talk about yourself, others, and how to choose between "Tu" and "Vous".
Here are the simplest sentences to give your information:
💡 In a very formal context
In a school or an official office, some people introduce themselves with their last name: "Bonjour, je suis Monsieur Martin."
A note from Maxime: Don't worry, I am not a rigid teacher! With me, you can use "Tu" and call me by my first name: Maxime. It’s much more fun for learning!
To introduce a friend, a colleague, or a family member:
Titles: Use Monsieur (Mr.) or Madame (Mrs.) + last name to be polite.
✅ "Enchanté de vous rencontrer, Madame Martin."
